Schemes for low cost flats from the Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority (MHADA) have been a huge success, with thousands of buyers making applications for MHADA low cost flats in Maharashtra. This meant standing in long queues for hours to purchase a form and submit it. To speed up the process, MHADA is introducing an online application system. Amarjit Singh Manhas, Chairman, MHADA (Mumbai Board) has stated that the online system will eliminate mistakes in application forms, and, secondly, MHADA will conduct lotteries within a month of applications. The new online application system for MHADA low cost flats will be ready in January 2011. It has been designed by the technology firm Mastek.
